Phil has been involved with the creative arts for as long as he can remember. As a child, he loved to draw and then took art classes in school and college. In the eighties, he became a full-time commercial artist and founded a company called Artbeats, designing backgrounds for desktop publishing. His company has evolved since then to producing motion imagery (a fancy word for stock footage) and has grown to an organization of over 25 employees. Phil has taken the role as producer, cinematographer and director, and his company now provides footage for broadcast and motion pictures.

In 2005 Phil took up painting again, and even though he spent years away from handling a real pastel stick, his experience with digital images has helped him refine his skills. Since then, Phil has painted consistently, and studied under Terry Ludwig and Richard McKinley.
