Gorgeous Gwen Kirk

Greetings and welcome to Gorgeous Gwen's wonderful world of Pen & Ink.

Within every inch of our earth I find many worlds, textures and abundant life. It is my delight to portray the lyrical and magical details of our earth in pen and ink.

I pencil sketch my compositions directly onto watercolor paper, generally washing and brushing with colored inks before the fine line work. I love how the pen connects with the pits and dimples of watercolor paper.

I use up at least one pen per drawing, laying down thousands of strokes and seemingly miles of ink.

For many years I have had the adventure of traveling the West and Northwest to juried art shows, averaging 15 to 20 shows per year. I have exhibited at some of the nation's top-rated fine arts shows including Scottsdale Arts Festival, Sun Valley Arts Festival, Bellevue Arts Museum Show and Tempe Festival of the Arts where I received the Best of Drawing Award.

While traveling with my husband, Photographer John Kirk, I have the opportunity to visit the most beautiful places in the West and often sit with breathtaking Mother Nature and draw. Inspiration is everywhere in our Natural World. What a lovely place to live.
