D'Ann Bourne
"Creating an abstract painting gives me an opportunity to tell a story or perhaps express an opinion. I would like each painting to have its' own voice; to answer a question or present a question for discussion. I enjoy working with layers of transparent and opaque acrylic paint and other treatments that will successfully relate the message or the story offered by the art. As I design the concept, my focus is on the process and emotional connection to the image. The title of each painting is my comment to this connection." D'Ann was born in Central Texas and now lives in Redding, California. The purpose of her creative expression is abstract and collage art. She has a natural ability to visually communicate through the use of color, texture and abstract forms. D'Ann is a member of the International Society of Experimental Artists,
an Associate Member of the Society of Layerists in Multi-Media and the
National Collage Society. She is also a member of the North Valley Art
League, Shasta Arts Council in Redding, California and Highland Art
Center in Weaverville, California. Her art is currently exhibited at
Art and Soul Gallery in Ashland, Oregon and on her website. Web site: dannbourne.com
