Carol Ann Wilder

Interested in art since childhood, I taught junior high art and language arts for several years before we moved in 1971 from outside Portland to Stanford U. and then Palo Alto. In 1998 I and my husband, a semi-retired school principal, moved halfway back, building a home in Mt. Shasta City in the "State of Jefferson." We have 2 married sons and 2 granddaughters.

In the early nineties, I became serious about watercolor, entering Bay Area shows and having several solo exhibits. My work has received numerous honors there and now in northern California, including Emerging Artist and the Signature Award for Society of Western Artists and Best of Show and Artist of the Year from Siskiyou Artists Association.

In addition to watercolor's challenges with its fluidity and glowing colors, I also enjoy working in pastel and mixed watermedia. A wide variety of subjects, from landscapes and still lifes to animals and abstracts, attracts me and keeps me challenged.

I'm grateful to God for the abilities He has given me, and my joy is to honor Him through my use of His gifts.
