“My interest in art began on the plains of East Africa where I grew up. My career as a helicopter pilot for 35 years took me to a myriad of locations to include: Viet Nam, Korea, Antarctica, Greenland, Tasmania, and South America. I continued my art throughout my career painting in a variety of locations.

A full cardiac arrest and extensive cardiac operations ended my career as a pilot but opened a new chapter in my life as a full time artist. I have been blessed with a new lease on life and am continually inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us. I attempt in some small way to capture this beauty on canvas. I am a colorist and paint primarily in oils. I enjoy the tactile quality of thick oil paint applied in a spontaneous fashion. I usually paint on location where I attempt to capture the essence and spirit of the place.”
