Charity Hubbard
Charity discovered her love for art in high school with the help of her mother, Sheri Dinardi, also a local artist. Along with the encouragement her parents and of a high school art teacher who drove her to art shows, she decided to start the journey and begin art studies. Her formal study includes completion of a one year program at Pacific College of Art and Design, and 2 years of study with Semyon Bilmes, nationally renowned artist, founder and master instructor of Ashland Academy of Art. She also has attended workshops taught by Michael Malm, Chris Hopkins, Frank Ordaz, Tim Soliday, Ron DiCianni, Mick McGinty, Thomas Blacksheare and Michael Dudash. She is a member of the Upper Rogue Artist's Society as well as Southern Oregon Society of Art. Though Charity's current art pursuits gravitate more towards fine art oil paintings, she also is experienced in commercial illustration, and has worked on numerous projects for Pixel Productions, Inc., a local commercial art and design company. Some of her illustrations have appeared on products in Hallmark and Costco as well as on local billboards. Charity is trained in perspective and drafting, and occasionally renders work for architects and builders, rendering technically precise yet artistic architectural illustrations in a variety of mediums. Her enjoyment of architectural elements is reflected in many of her paintings as well. Some of her recent paintings include reference from photos she recently took in England and Portugal. Charity enjoys teaching art and offers lessons to children ages 10 and up, and adults. These classes include training in learning to draw from life, sketching, color theory, light to dark values, perspective and painting. Her goal in her work is her attempt to capture the essence of the moment she is witnessing and to convey the feeling in that moment as honestly as possible so that the viewer might have a chance to feel moved similarly as well. She believes that the purest of inspiration is ultimately from The Artist of all artists, and that humanity is blessed beyond measure to witness His handiwork in nature and in other people. "The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection." ~ Michelangelo Web site: charityhubbard.com |
